Ghosts in the Dark??
« on: January 28, 2010, 11:44:49 AM »
Do we need light to see Ghosts?

All these shows about people having vigils in the pitch dark, would they be able to see anything?

Could the apprearance of a Ghost be something like in Predator where you can only see a vague outline?

Could we be able to see an outline in the pitch dark?

Can we only see ghosts by Moon 'Light'? By Candle 'Light'?

Should vigils take place with the lights on?

I think its more a reason that people believe that light anomalies are a very common sign of a spirits/ghosts which in turn are easier to see in darkness.

Personally I don't think it makes any difference. If theres something there it will find someway of communicating whether its dark or not.

I agree with Graham on this.  I have heard many accounts of spirits being seen during day light hours.  The one I saw was at 8am so I don't think there is any set time for them to make an appearance.

I agree Michelle as the two I saw were both at different times and very early. The first one at the sight of a plane crash on a hill in Manor Kilbride at just before 7pm just as the light was going and the second one just before 11pm with all lights still on and this occured on a stairwell in Dunboyne Castle Hotel. Myself - I just think that with the lights off it creates a better atmosphere and you are concentrating that bit more.

But if it was in the pitch dark do you think you would have been able to se the ghosts?

Are ghosts self illuminated?

Good question. The ones I saw where just like ordinary people - I suppose the darkness just adds to the experience.

Hey Guys

Sorry its taken so long to get a look at your new site but its looking very well.

On the subject above I have to be honest and say I dont understand why investigations happen in the dark. We find in many of the reported sightings that we investigate that they occur during the day with people doing normal things. My personal opinion is that if there is light you should use it. The lack of light leads to many different occurances with the human body itself both mentally and physically.

Hopefully wont take me so long to check on the site for the next time :-)

Regards
Mark

Hi Mark. I would agree with you on that and as for the light being out It's just adds to the atmosphere I reckon.

Well there is that aspect to consider...
Its kinda the done thing, investigating at night with the lights out.

When your in the dark and you can't see your other senses are heightent which will mostly likely make you hear things would wouldn't normally notice and may be interpreted wrong.

I don't think it makes any difference except that when its dark there is more chance of mis-interpretation.

HI everyone, first post here .

Ive seen apparitions both in the dark and at night but prefer night as there are so many other ways to see spirits besides a full apparition. Ive seen them manifest as round ball shadows and brilliant specks of light.
The reason night is better IMO is that any sort of light anomalies are easier seen , though have seen these in daytime also. Also night is a time when the world quietens down and there is less noise outside to distract from any other sound anomalies. Also, I think that sitting vigils are good because  when you close off your sight, your other senses come into play and for me my hearing becomes more acute.

When I saw the apparition in the daytime it was a spirit in my house of a man  and when I saw the comment about 'Predator" well you know I found that interesting becaues that is exactly how  describe what I saw. I saw movement in front of me that caught my eye and it only lasted a few seconds and was the outline of a man with the rest of the body see through like the background. It wasnt a mist or anything , just an outline and the only reason i saw it was because it moved but i coudl tell it was a man

A few weeks ago  2 members of my team  and myself witness an appariton in a place here in  Australia that is well know for this particular apparition in a tunnel which is a woman. That tunnel is well know for the lights in it which you always see and cant explain away and we walk through there in pitch darkenss. To be honest, I think we saw this appartion so well because she absolutely glowed white and lit up the tunnel

It lasted for over a minute and it was about 2' off the ground and glided from left to right and towards us and back. We descirbed it as a white silouette and we coudl tell it was a woman with her head and shape of her body and appeared to hve a dress on and the more intense the light becaem , the more solid she looked so you coudl most see her face. It was almost like someone had shone a white glowing hologram in the tunnel and moved it about. Truly amazing.
