This was a joint investigation with Paranormal Ulster a big thanks to Mike and the team.

Dating from 1798, this is one of the finest examples of the great Gothic house in Ireland. The entire structure stands in its original form, having never been altered externally.

We did pick up what seems to be the voice of a small girl on the recorders, and both Adam and myself felt we had been touched in one of the upper rooms. There are a lot of mirrors in the lower floors of the castle and we felt it very unnerving to look into them with the torches, it really felt as though we were all being watched.

The Castle is now being restored, work committed to by the Charleville Castle Heritage Trust.

We all had a great time on this investigation, the castle it’s self is a wonderful place to visit, even just for a tour. We did have some scary moments as well as some very funny ones, including the cat setting off the sensor alarms, and scaring the living daylights out of the team members.
There is a definite atmosphere within the castle and certain parts are hard to be in on your own. We intend to visit the castle again in September for a full weekend as the place is just to vast to cover in one night.
